During a Sephora VIB sale, I picked up a few of The Ordinary products to try out as the price was just too good! The Ordinary products are now excluded from the sale but even without a discount, they are cheaper than most drugstore products! I haven’t tried them all yet but there are a few that I am loving that I wanted to share with you!
Now I haven’t given up any of my holy grail skincare products as The Ordinary makes it so easy to add their products to your current routine. The packaging is just adorable. They are in cute little glass vials and I love how you use a dropper! I find the products are simple yet effective. There are soooo many different products for specific uses versus one cream that does it all. This could be annoying if you are in a rush but I like the idea of having different products to use depending on how your skin is that day. So right now with the cold winter weather, I’ve been using more of their hydrators and oils.
Problem skin
So this toner I use when I feel my skin is very congested, and clogged. I find it does a great job of helping to exfoliate the top layer of my skin. Now I do find this toner to be very strong on my sensitive skin so I do not use this daily. It’s amazing that this product has such a high percentage of glycolic acid. Usually products with this high a concentration are very expensive and this was $8!
Once in a while I still get a pimple here and there and this Niacinamide has been amazing! It really helps my skin heal fast from a breakout and helps with clogged pores. My husband also likes using this as he is very prone to breakouts.
Hydrators
Now this pure hyaluronic acid with + B5 has been great at adding hydration before using a moisturizer. Now I don’t like using a moisturizer at night so adding this has been just the perfect amount of hydration before bed. I add a few drops after my serum and it really helps hydrate my skin. It absorbs quickly and has no scent. I also like using this before putting on a primer when you want a bit of hydration without being oily.
I just started adding this Amino Acids +B5 on top of the hyaluronic acid because the weather has gotten so cold my face has been so dry. I’ve bee using this for only a few days and it has made a huge difference in how my face feels in the morning. Honestly I don’t know how The Ordinary is able to make such effective products for so cheap. Other companies really need to learn from them.
Oil
If you have read my pregnancy post on skincare, you might remember how I loved using the Biossance Squalane oil but did not like the price. Well when I saw that The Ordinary had 100% squalane oil for $7, I had to give it a try. Now the consistency is not the same as Biossance. The ordinary is definitely more liquidly but still has a bit of an oily feel but extremely light. Now if you have oily skin, this oil is perfect for you. Even though this is less oily, it is just as hydrating and I would definitely recommend this.
