I just washed some of my most used brushes and I wanted to share with you my favourite brush cleaner.I don’t know about you but I don’t wash my makeup brushes as often as I should be. I know they recommend washing your brushes after every use for hygiene reasons but I seem to always forget or am in a rush right after I put my make up on. Well for the new year, I have decided to wash my brushes frequently and I wanted to share with you the BEST brush cleaner that is super cheap, non toxic, and works wonders. It honestly makes cleaning make up brushes so easy! You don’t need a fancy machine or fancy cleaners to do it.

Castile Soap
Castile Soap is the best thing to have in your house. I use this for everything! But I especially love using this for cleaning my brushes. I find the makeup just comes right out of my brushes and you only need a little bit. There are two brands that I currently have in my house but you can use any brand you like but try to choose one that is organic if possible so there are less chemicals. Right now I am using the green beaver Castile soap and Dr Bronners Castile soap. I like to stick to the unscented or the ones for babies. If you have a dog, you can get the peppermint one because that helps keep fleas away! One of my favorite places to buy the soap is at Winners! I know, who would have thought that winners would have this but they do #winnersfabfinds. I usually stock up when I see it there or when Wholefoods has their biannual body care sale. I also buy it from Amazon.
How to use Castile Soap
Castile soap is suppose to be used diluted. There are instructions on the bottle for how much to dilute depending on what you are using it for. I personally like to use the soap full strength for brushes. I add a drop to each brush after its been wet and it creates this amazing lather without any SLSs and rinses really easily. One bottle lasts a really long time.
